Mr. Lewis: Subacute Therapy Helps Him Home
Mr.
Lewis came to Kindred Hospital Las Vegas Flamingo’s Subacute Unit after surgery
for a total hip arthroplasty
(THA) on his right hip. While his condition was stable and otherwise healthy,
Mr. Lewis was not able to return home directly and was admitted to Kindred Hospital for additional inpatient
therapy.
Upon
arrival July 5, Mr. Lewis began a course of physical and occupational therapy
in the Subacute Unit. After only three days, his strength, transfers, and
ambulation were so improved that he was able to be discharged home with his
wife.
